Prepare files and account choices before launch, then verify server access and your character separately. The highest-impact pre-login check is an existing Pass on console: its link opportunity is only shown on first login.
In this guide
Before launch: settle the decisions that affect your save
Choose the account and server you intend to keep. For a group, exchange the actual server label rather than only saying you will play on PC or console. For PS5, confirm the server assigned by the PSN region before linking an existing character.
Keep the intended Pass email accessible and identify the purchasing console account if you ordered a pack. These are Atlas preparation steps drawn from the published linking and reward rules. Do not make a second identity merely to test whether a download works.

Prepare the correct client for your platform
The PC and console preload notice opens downloads on September 14 at 10:00 UTC+8. It reserves 40 GB for PC and recommends an SSD; console preload requires a purchased pack and 30–35 GB, with PS5 installation on its internal SSD. Old beta clients must be replaced.
The developer letter schedules native mobile for September 23. Having an Apple or Google listing available is not the same as completing the native installation. Consult mobile compatibility for that branch and PC troubleshooting if the launcher reports a specific error.

Use a checklist with visible completion states
A successful earlier step does not prove the next one. This staged checklist is Atlas’s way to make the first session easier to diagnose, especially when preload, account linking and pack claims happen at different moments.
| Situation | Next action |
|---|---|
| Files prepared | Current launcher and client installed; no unresolved verification error. |
| Account prepared | Intended Pass identified; console first-login linking decision understood. |
| Server matched | Existing character and platform assignment checked. |
| Service available | Scheduled opening reached and the live login actually succeeds. |
| Character confirmed | Expected character and server visible after login. |
| Reward handled | Correct platform mailbox checked; existing Handbook tier reviewed before activation. |

At first login: stop at an unexpected account or character
On a fresh console identity, use the linking popup if preserving an existing Pass. On Steam, the FAQ permits linking at the prompt or later through Email Link. Once inside, confirm the intended server and character before treating the session as successfully migrated.
If anything differs, note what happened and consult the matching account guide. Avoid consuming a pack item while still unsure which account you opened. For a purchased console pack, claim through the purchasing console and then inspect inventory; the Handbook applies to the version in which it is activated.

After the technical checks, choose a first gameplay objective
When the correct character is ready, choose one manageable objective from first steps: learn a creature’s available actions, follow the presented progression, or plan a collection target. This is a suggested learning order rather than a guaranteed fastest route.
The September 3 letter changes several launch systems relative to tests, including legendary encounters and training. Keep current launch guidance beside any older beta notes so a remembered test mechanic does not send your first session in the wrong direction.

Common questions
Does preload mean I can play immediately?
No. It prepares client files; the scheduled server opening and a successful live login remain separate.
What is the most important console preparation step?
Identify the existing Pass and server before first login so you can use the one-time linking popup correctly.
